There’s nothing I love more than a bold bride, so I couldn’t have been happier to hear from Krystal, for this week’s Style Sessions!  Her traditional Maggie Sottero gown (style Bernadette) follows the trend for a cap sleeve cover and lace. 

For her rustic winter wedding, Krystal’s gown is actually a light gold with ivory lace detail, and she had already chosen a headband adorned with rhinestones and pearls.  What’s more, she’s walking down the aisle with a brooch bouquet.  Whew!  It’s a lot of bling, but I’m excited to offer my suggestions for earrings and a bangle to complete her look. 

Here are my picks for Krystal’s classic-with-a-twist wedding:

Instantly, I thought of these gorgeous vintage chandelier earrings for Krystal.  They are delicate, so not to compete with the bold headband, yet still make a strong statement that complements the shape of her gown and her rustic wedding story.  I paired the earrings with our classic scrollwork bangle.  I can add more pop (in shine and size of the cuff) on the wrist to balance everything going on up top.

My second choice pulls some pearls into the mix (I mean, isn’t it the second thing you think of when you hear lace?), as it’s already incorporated into the headband.  I love it on the bangle here – with some cute antique scrollwork that goes well with Krystal’s rustic theme.  I paired the bangle with classic crystal drops, that will look great with the gown with or without the headband (if she does a hair change for the reception).

For my last look, I love these teardrop earrings, which mimic Krystal’s already purchased jewelry, but still adds a unique statement.  They will sit fairly tight to her ear, so in combination with the headband, the focus still stays on the face.  I’ve paired these earrings with a classic skinny scrollwork bangle, that follows the breast detailing of the gown and overall feel beautifully.

Style Sessions with Urvi: Judd Waddell #2

Evident in his design and construction, Judd Waddell began his career in architecture.  This week, I have the pleasure of recommending wedding jewelry for one of his beautiful strapless dresses (simply named #2), decorated with a ruche sweetheart corset top, asymmetrical cascading skirt and sash. 

My bride, Nancy, is set to have a summer wedding at a hotel and golf course, just north of NYC.  An elegant affair, she wants her classic beauty to shine with pearl bridal jewelry accents.

Here are my picks:

 While this gown does have a lot going on, everything works together to somehow make a simple statement.  Dare I say, it makes the perfect canvas for the bride to shine (and her bling!).  What I love with this dress is jewelry that pops, and these pearl drop earrings are no exception.  The floral drops accented with manmade pearls echo this classic summer wedding.  We can go for a bigger bangle because the sash isn’t encrusted in jewels, so they are not competing.

My second choice is curated for the traditional bride.  I’ve framed her face in delicate pearl drop earrings and offered to pair with two different types of pearl wedding bracelets.  While both match the earrings, the first bangle set is more modern and clean and the second pairing exudes elegance.  It’s all in preference.

Style Sessions with Urvi: Kenneth Winston “1400”

It’s not often I have a request to style a gown like this Private Label by G, Kenneth Winston Collection, style 1400 wedding dress.  The illusion halter neckline and its lace and crystal beading make a statement on its own, so I had my work cut out for me.

My bride, Chelsea, will be wearing her hair half up, half down, with long cascading curls.  She prefers a stud or short drop against the high neckline of the gown, and I agree.  With everything going on in the dress, I also think it’s best to stick with a beautiful shimmer on the wrist, so each gown is paired with our pavé openable bangle.

Here are my picks for Chelsea:

Immediately, my mind went to our floral drop earrings, which gracefully mimics the floral lace applique of the gown.  The earrings themselves have a small drop – just enough to peek through Chelsea’s hair – adding a little pop to the face.

On the other hand, I do really love a good stud with the halter.  These cute pearl earrings framed in a floral motif again incorporate the design elements of the gown, for a polished look.  I also like this size stud, when considering her hair will be down around the ears, so the jewelry will still be visible.

My final recommendation for Chelsea is a classic, cubic zirconia drop earring.  It’s a timeless look and doesn’t compete with the gown’s embellishments and adds another level of elegance her bridal vision.

Style Sessions with Urvi: Maggie Sottero "Leoni"

Out of all the wedding gown designers, I get the most requests for styling Maggie Sottero.  This week, my bride Raven presented me with the asymmetrical shoulder, A-line gown, Leoni. 

The delicate floral lace detail adds a fun touch to Raven’s summer wedding with bright pops of color: pinks, greens, purples, blues, oranges and yellows.  Already, I can tell she loves to make a statement, so here go my picks for her classic summer evening wedding:

If you’re wearing a one-shoulder gown, never wear a necklace.  The rest is up to your preference, but as I always say, a wrist is bare without a bracelet.  I’ve chosen our most popular bangle for my top pick because its shine picks up on Sworovski crystals and beading, but doesn’t compete.  Finish this look with classic earrings with a shape that beautifully complements the full body skirt.

Style Sessions with Urvi: Pronovias "Alcanar"

I've been a Pronovias fan for a long time, and the Alcanar gown is no exception... such a classic bridal style with the ball gown silhouette and beautiful lace overlay.  My bride this week, Anna, fittingly is looking for classic jewelry to compliment this timless gown, but also loves vintage wedding jewelry. 

Her wedding is a traditional summer church ceremony, complete with an elegant reception on the top floor of a downtown hotel.  Hello glamour!  For her look, I wanted to make a simple statement, so her beauty and quintessential style shine.

Here are my picks for Anna's aisle style:

My top pick takes Anna back to vintage glamour.  Not only do the drop earrings feel nostalgic, but the lines look so beautiful against the sweetheart neckline.  The floral bangle balances the look and picks up the flowery lace detail on the gown for a truly polished feel. For her second look, I continued the vintage theme with another pair of drop earrings (P.S. these earrings look fab with hair up or down), but this time went with a heavier bangle for a bigger wow-factor.  Remember: your wrist will show in lots of photos (think wedding bands, cutting the cake, boquet, etc.) so you definitely want to wear a bracelet on the big day.  Since we're making a statement on the wrist, the earrings are smaller, so they don't compete.

My final selection is going for sleek sophistication.  Still a hint of vintage with the earrings, but the clean lines lend to a more modern feel, as well.  I've chosen a thin bangle because it's important to decorate the wrist, but with this look, I wanted Anna and the gown to be the main focus.  This set is hands down classic and would look great for any occasion post-wedding, too... like your first anniversary!
